A Unity-based Metroidvania platformer built by a team of seven for Metroidvania Month 23.
Transversi was my entry for Metroidvania Month 23, a month-long jam to build a Metroidvania from scratch, made with a team of seven developers. I worked as one of the team's programmers, writing gameplay code in C# in Unity.
The game is built around a character-swap mechanic, letting the player switch between characters to reach new areas, which is a core idea of the genre. We submitted a work-in-progress build with one playable level shortly before the deadline.
Players said the character controller felt good and that the character-swap mechanic showed promise, but the build was clearly unfinished: placeholder graphics, no audio and little polish. Coordinating a large team in a short time frame made it hard to bring everything together before submission.
I took those lessons into a later jam, GearShift (Metroidvania Month 29), where I came back to the same idea with a dual-form character and scoped the work more tightly.
